The next 6 years of his life he learns the spells, summonings and other tricks of the trade. He gets cocky and like a lot of teenagers overly emotional at being belittled so he takes vengeance on a powerful magician. It of course back fires and that is when the book really takes off. There is also the ever so witty Bartimaeus the demon or Djinn that is summoned by Nathaniel as his ever loyal side kick.
It was over all an enjoyable read. This is supposed to be the first book in a "series" or trilogy but nothing has been published since th We'll see what happens in the future.
If anything, it helped me visualize how possible it could be for this book to be turned into a movie and wow I was just happy and I love how it set up for the next book because that means another graphic novel. The only problem I've had was that it followed too much of the book - I think having to name every chapter was necessary.
