To get started, simply connect your J. Morgan approved scanner to a designated employee workstation. Then log on to Receivables Edge and click Capture. Select the lockbox where you want the payments to be processed, and indicate whether you are capturing a check, document, or both. If you are set up for our Balancing option, you can enter the total number of checks and total amount for deposit.
In minutes, you can start scanning your transactions. Our dynamic detection software identifies the scanned item as a check or document and automatically prepopulates the check amount. Next, review your scanned checks and documents, validate the items and amounts, select Save and Continue. Verify that the MICR line of each check is clearly visible to ensure the item will clear.
All checks must have valid routing and transit numbers and be drawn on a US bank or government agency. You can view the front and back of all scanned documents and, if needed, edit the captured data before submitting the transactions for deposit. You can also opt to associate checks and documents with a group and reference number for future reporting needs. In the Details window, you can view the scanned checks and documents and receive alerts about errors.
If an item is accidentally rescanned, Virtual Remits duplicate check detection feature will cite the error and allow you to flag the duplicate and reject it. Once you have reviewed all items and are ready to finalize the batch, you have the option to transfer documents and funds immediately.
Authorized users can review detailed reporting for all Virtual Remit transactions, including their lockbox, status of the captured items, whether they're saved or transferred, date of transaction, amount, as well as their operator. With the Virtual Remit mobile solution, you can use your mobile device to capture images of items and send them for processing.
First, log on to J. Morgan Access, our electronic banking portal. And click Deposit a Check. Choose the lockbox for deposit. Indicate whether you're capturing a check, document, or both.
And enter the check amount. You're now ready to take a picture of the front and back of the check or document. Click Use to accept the image. If you're set up to key an invoice data, you'll be presented with the Required and Optional fields.
To capture another document image, simply click Yes when prompted to launch the camera to take another picture. When you're finished, click Next to confirm your deposit and then click Submit. The Activity Summary Report enables you to search by a variety of criteria, capture date range, lockbox, transaction status, or capture device, and provides you with lockbox, lockbox sites, status of virtual remit items, dates, items, and amounts.
